State Agency for Children Protection  and Bulgarian Sports Federation for Children Deprived of Parental care organize on February 23 and 24, 2010 in Sofia SECOND NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE PROBLEMS OF PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORT IN BULGARIAN RESIDENTIAL CARE SPECIALIZED under the motto “TOGETHER FOR SYSTEMATIC SPORTS ACTIVITIES”. The conference will take place under the patronage of Mr. Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Deputy Prime Minister of Republic of Bulgaria and Minister of Interior. 

The goal of the conference is to discuss the possibilities of uniting the efforts of the different related institutions for realization of organized systematic sports activities in the specialized institutions for children deprived of parental care. The expected results of the realization of the idea are:

1) Assistance of the realization of the personal abilities, adaptation and social integration of the physically healthy children and teenagers deprived of parental care;

2) Using sport for prevention against negative social phenomena, such as intolerance, violence, the use of cigarettes, alcohol, drugs.

3) Increase of the level of overall physical shape and the state of health of the children (as a result of the lack of enough sports activities the greatest part of them suffer from spinal distortions and overweight); making their life more colorful and meaningful.

4) Overcoming the stress from the social isolation through sport and growth as adequate members of society of the children from this social group.

Participation have confirmed representatives of: Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Sport and Youth, Bulgarian Olympic Committee. The conference will take place in the National Sports Academy and Mr. Lachesar Dimitrov, the Rector of the Academy, will be the host of the event. We expect over 40 directors of specialized institutions for children deprived of parental care, as well as representatives of the municipalities where the institutions are located. Participations in the conference will discuss the Working Conception of Bulgarian Sports Federation for Children Deprived of Parental Care for 2010 - 2011.
