Since 2002 Bulgarian Sports Federation for Children Deprived of Parental Care organizes Christmas Tournaments under the motto “SPORTS – ACCESSIBLE TO EVERY CHILD!” in five sports – football, basketball, light athletics, table tennis and badminton, and since 2005 – Easter Tournaments as well. Participants are from the institutions for children deprived of parental care. Tournaments are implemented regionally at first, and the winners from the regional tournaments are classified for the final in Sofia. Nearly 2000 children from the specialized institutions are organized with sports activities. They train eagerly in expectation of the sports events that are especially for them.

The Christmas and Easter Tournaments are symbolically connected to the greatest holidays and became a good tradition. With the support of the Bulgarian sports federations and a lot of sponsors, every child is given a present and the winners – individual and team prizes.
